Nompilo Dlamini doesn't want any medication or injections until God decides whether or not to save her.
Nompilo sent shockwaves across Mzansi, after posting a touching video on her Twitter account. She shared in the video that she's done fighting her long battle with cystic fibrosis. Dlamini says she has endured so much pain and she believes her job of fighting is done now.
Nompilo touched the hearts of many South Africans in 2021, when she revealed that she was in need of a new set of lungs. A GoFundMe initiative was started to help her raise a whopping R2million for the transplant. With the assistance of the public and rapper Cassper Nyovest, her dream came true when she flew to India, for her lifechanging transplant in December.
She took to social media to express her gratitude to everyone who supported her since 2019. "Thank you for the support, Thank you for the love. I am here and you have been supportive since 2019 when I started my journey, sharing my life story. And you have been so welcoming, emotionally supportive during my downfalls, you've always been there. During my good days. you're always there.' she shared.
Following her Tweet, her fans flooded the comments section with messages of encouragement and support.
she posted on her Twitter account, it appears she is ready to give up. In her view, she thinks she doesn't have that desire to take any more medication or to attempt any further chances of getting help, and to keep fighting.
"I might be going back home next week because the needed injection is not available here in India, which is part of the immunosuppressants that I am supposed to take. But, it is available in South Africa. But, at the same time, I don’t think I still have that will to take any more medication or to take any more chances of giving me hope to get help, and keep on the fight,” she said, fighting back her tears.
She left several Twitter users reaching for the tissue box when she said she doesn't want any medication or injections until God decides whether or not to save her.
“For me, honestly, I am done with medication. I am just gonna let God do His will and take each day as it comes because, no, no, no I have had enough of the fighting. It’s time I get selfish and just think of me, nobody else. Next week I am coming back home. I don’t want to take any more injections, I do not want anything, besides me taking each day as it comes until God decides that I should be joining him and his disciples,” she said.
The following morning, she shared another video in which she reassured her fans that she will not give up fighting. “Hi guys, Sanibonani, thank you for the messages and the love that you guys showed me yesterday as always. I’m not losing hope, I am not giving up but I am just exhausted and I need rest guys," she shared.
“Besides being sick, I have to think of how I will survive the next day financially and emotionally because I can’t go to work. I have my certificates at home, I can’t use them because Cystic Fibrosis is ruling my life. The pain that I have to battle each and every day desperately, taking pain killers each and every day. I am not losing faith or hope, I am just exhausted. Nothing more than that, I need rest,” she continued.
