"I am Fearfully and Wonderfully Made"

What Does The Bible Say About Fashion

Outward appearance reigns in our days, multi-media and social networks insinuate us with ways of improving our fashion style, people are being told what to wear or not to wear, whether they should gain or loose weight, bleach, try new hair, try botox, and do plastic surgery. God doesn't  about your outward appearance, He is God that searches the heart, he says “What goes into someone’s mouth does not defile them, but what comes out of their mouth, that is what defiles them.” 1 Samuel 16:7 7 But the LORD said to Samuel, “Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The LORD does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.” God expects us to put more effort into being perfect inside (improving the inner man).

Sunday morning many Christians spend more time searching for perfect attire, perfect makeup, lip gloss, shoes other than spending much time interceding for the service. It is not a sin to look good but one should bear in mind that beauty fades with the age. Spiritually exercise is more profitable than physical. Pray regularly fast, read the words invest your time in God and His glory will shine upon you. We should look respectable but Don’t overdo your makeup, wear fewer dresses that are knee-length or below, no daring cleavage, and no short shorts. The Lord wants us to look good for our spouses, and if not married, same still applies, there is nothing wrong with wanting to look nice but we should always strive for that inner beauty first, the beauty that the Lord gives us inside, (that will radiate to the outside.

Proverbs 31:30 Charm is deceitful and beauty is passing, But a woman who fears the LORD, she shall be praised. No matter what inner beauty will always outshine what is on the outside.
